About
Malini Raman-Middleton
Hi I'm Malini a 18 year old actor and filmmaker living in Catford, southeast London. I studied film and media production at the Brit School, and am now studying the Production pathway at London screen Academy. Along side this I am a part of the Ghetto Film school, set to graduate in 2025.

Growing up in a mixed Hindu and Jewish heritage family in a culturally and economically diverse part of London, I use film to explore identity, belonging and social justice. I wrote and directed ‘Killing Time’ which was a semi-finalist in the Children's Cinema Awards. my short film 'Jhumki' is screening at the UK Asian Film Festival. I am currently working on a comedy short called ‘Period Drama’, which was selected for the UK Film festival script awards. Through Ghetto Film school I am set to direct a short film in Vancouver in summer 2024.

My interest in film began through art and visuals which then led me down the route of moving images and film. I have always enjoyed working in groups and collaboration with other people which has greatly helped my film development.
